First, let me say I love my Chickens and I wish that the Chickens you receive from me to be exactly what you wanted! But there are a few things I need to say first.

  1. I Will Never Sell My Best Birds​

Do What? Yes, that is right. As long as I am working to improve a breed on the farm then I will never sell my best birds. This is because my best birds are the birds that will lead my breeding program to improve the breed towards the standard of perfection, for improved health, vigor, disease resistance and improved production traits. If I was to sell my best birds, it means 1 of 2 things. Either I am a Peddler or I am getting out of that Breed. ​

  2. I Do Not Sell A Lot of Birds

How am I suppose to get any birds then? All this means is I do not hatch a lot of birds to sell them to make lots of money. I am not a Peddler. 

I do hatch a lot of chicks, I typically keep around 150-200 chicks of my main breed (BLRW) to grow out and about 50-100 (ideally) of the other breeds to grow out. From that selection per breed I am lucky to keep the top 10%. So the other birds that do not meet the mark, are either Culled due to a very Disqualifying trait, Pullets are sold and Cockerels are taken to the pot for a more sustainable living for my family.

3. How Do I Get Some Birds Then?

First, pick which breed and if you want hatching eggs, chicks, or adults and get on the waiting list by notifying me and making sure you got a reply back with a confirmation from me. 

Second, Follow me on FB that is where I announce when I have something available! If you cannot follow me on FB 

then please get a hold of me either by phone, email or through this websites messenger and let me know you are interested in some birds and what you are looking for. I do not ship grow-outs or adults currently. I can ship chicks and hatching eggs and have before.

4. I Am Interested In Getting Breeder Stock.

If you are looking for breeder stock, there are 3 Options as long as you remember I will not sell my Standouts. 

Option 1: Buy Hatching Eggs or Chicks! There is no way to select your next breeder from an egg or a chick. By doing this option you have the best chance to get a Standout! But you also have the chance to get serious defects as well, especially if you get hatching eggs. 

Option 2: Wait till my final selection and pick up my birds that didn't make the top 10% Standout Selection Point. This option is a good option but they will still have a few flaws. There is a good chance when breeding these that these birds will still carry the genetic potential and variation to continue to improve. This usually takes anywhere from 9-14 months after hatch to determine who these birds are.

Option 3: After my Standout Selection, I will also re-evaluate my breeding pen birds. Sometimes these birds will then become available. They will be older birds but they were birds that did create the newest Standout Selection Breeders. Just because these birds are older, does not mean they will be cheaper.

5. I Just Want A Chicken..

Sounds good! You need to watch the FB page the most! I start selling my pullet culls as soon as I can identify them! There are certain defects that will not be sold and will be culled on the farm. But all the rest of the pullets will be sold. Price will be determined by the age of the pullet. If you are interested in a cockerel for your flock, (they do serve a purpose other than breeding) then you will need to specifically request these as well.

6. What do they cost?

As you visit each breed page on this website, the pricing is listed for each sex and age. This does not mean there is any of those age groups available! These prices are just so that you know what you will be paying for the age and breed and sex of the bird. Occasionally a price maybe lowered if the quality of the bird is less desirable. Also, breeder quality adults may be higher.

7. LASTLY Join the Waiting List.

We now have a Google Form Waiting List/ Potential Order form. The Link will be provided below saying "Waiting List". Please fill it out correctly as it will have the necessary information for NPIP paperwork.
